Tsukiji Fish Market
It was a cold damp day today in Tokyo so I visited the Tsukiji Fish Market - or rather what’s left of it since the famous wholesale fish market (largest in the world) and tuna auction has moved to new premises. It is a hectic place where you can find all sorts of things in addition to fish, and packed with plenty of little eateries and sushi places. Needless to say that it is most definitely not environmentally sound.
In the afternoon, I tried to visit the Imperial Palace Grounds but, for some unknown reason, it was closed, so I went to the Kabukiza Theatre and managed to see a single-act Kabuki show. A lot went over my head but it was an interesting experience.
