To the museum
We'd planned an outing to Museum Booijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam today, to visit the exhibition about the Bauhaus movement. It was an early rise because it's a three hours travel to Rotterdam, one of the downsides of living on the edge of the country.
Having arrived, we walked to the museum, finding a few geocaches on our way. Museum Booijmans van Beuningen is large, but partially closed because it is being renovated. To us, the size does not really matter, because we want to limit ourselves to a specific exhibition. And we liked this one. We learned more about the Bauhaus movement and recognised a lot of what we saw. A video was shown of Oskar Schlemmer, 'script for ballet', which I would like to see more of.
We also went to the Sonneveld House. In the blip, you see a fragment of the stairwell. The Sonneveld House is one of the best-preserved houses in the Nieuwe Bouwen style, the Dutch branch of the International School of Modernism.
Back home there was a letter delivered with the happy news that I passed the last exam.
Hooray!
