Magnolia stellata

Today's the day ………………….. for a little star

We've left quite a few much-loved plants back in our old garden in Kendal - but I'm pleased to say that in this garden here, there are two magnificent bushes of Magnolia stellata - and right now, they are bursting into life. 

It's also known as the star magnolia and it's native to Japan. It bears large, showy white or pink flowers (see extra) in early spring, before its leaves open.  A wonderful plant to have in any garden ………………..
