Upper Barrakka Gardens
Our last morning but not being picked up for the airport till 12.00 so time for a wander.
The sun was back, though still a bit breezy but the Coffee Kiosk was open again in the Upper Barrakka Gardens. The ferries and boats were running again and some of the fountains turned back on. Valletta getting back to normal.
I liked the sun highlighting these Strelitza plants and the Maltese crosses around the fencing. This has become a favourite stopping off point coming and going to our apartment each day despite the steps to get up here.
Cats like it here too - these lamps that light up the gardens at night must hold their heat for some time - extra
I’m feeling much better but Chris isn’t yet, but now we are home so all good. There was a delay to departure as someone’s bag had to be located as he was too ill to travel. We’d seen a young couple with a child in the departure lounge and he was lying on the floor with the mother telling the little boy to leave daddy alone as he was ‘poorly’. Not sure it was him but she got off the plane at the end on her own with the child!
We’ve had a good holiday seeing all we wanted to on the good (exceptional) weather days when we both felt well. So no complaints
