Coventry City 0 Oxford United 1

In the 1990s I almost completed visiting all 92 Football League grounds. I only had one or two to go but then a lot of new grounds were constructed and as I travelled less with work the total increased again. As Chester didn’t have a game today I thought I would start the process of filling in the gaps so today I went to see Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.

I had been to their old ground in 1985 when I saw Chester lose 7-2. There weren’t as many goals today and Oxford won by a single goal. The game wasn’t brilliant and once Oxford had scored I couldn’t see Coventry equalising.

I will have to see if I can chip away at the outstanding grounds although most of them are down south unfortunately.
