Stumped

Loved the rich textures and vibrant colours in this decaying moss covered tree stump, set against a large rock with leaves and bits of bark in the foreground.

I debated about the stick which is a bit incongruent, but I decided it added a contrasting element and it leans into the frame.

An overcast day with uninteresting sky led me to focus on an intimate scene and this one fit the bill. I still had to be careful with highlights on the horizontal surfaces and distracting bright elements in an otherwise flat image, so not as easy as you might think.
