Today is international day of forests, sadly I didn't have a change to spend time in a forest today. Forest hikes and walks are one of my favourite things to do!

Forests and their sustainable management play a key role in the global carbon cycle and in in tackling climate change. Forests cover 30% of the Earth's land surface, their capacity to absorb and store carbon from the atmosphere is a critical contribution to reaching the Paris Agreement goal of limiting warming to well under 2 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels. Each year more than 13 million hectares of forests are lost. Forest area (% of land area) in Finland  is 72%.


Our car is in service, so we took a bus home - took the photo when standing on the bus stop. This might have been the warmest day so far.
