Moving back in.

An hour or so ago this container was packed to the brim with M’s life. Now the house renovation is pretty much over, a few friends gathered to move her goods and chattels back in.

It was going well ... until Sav and another of M’s friends started to fix the dripping stop tap under the sink. No-one knew that the stop tap out at the mains didn’t turn off very tightly, so even with all the taps in the house open and all the water drained out, water continued to run out of the tap under the sink .... Bit of excitement as Sav tried to get the tap back on! I had to call the water board to come to have a look, as the tap was still leaking and couldn’t be dealt with. They came out about half an hour later and the nice chap said that it often happens with o,see taps, you can’t turn them off enough with just your hand, you need the special tap turning tool in order to get a good tight turn on it. He shut off the water properly and Sav was able to change the tap for a new one, having been home to get changed as he had been thoroughly soaked!

Pity the plumber who did the heating system didn’t mention the fact you couldn’t turn the tap off, as he already knew that but didn’t tell M!
