Gas leak

When I wenthome on my lunch I smelled gas. I opened all the windows, unpacked in the living room and went back to work. When I came back home after work at 8.30 pm, I called the emergency gas people. He came around 9pm to check and confirmed there is a gas leak. He turned the gas off and asked me to use the heater that was provided last time there was a leak. Nope, I drove to R and slept there for the night. Icontacted my landlord (who is on holiday) and he saidhe will send someone for the next day.
