1608. Swarovski Ice Skating Boot

I've got a few spare hours this morning as we wait for the Virgin Media engineer to come out and have a look at our broadband which has been dodgy for weeks...and having had quite enough of it being so unreliable yesterday we phoned only to be told that our hub was "offline"...surely if it was offline it wouldn't work at all?   Well today's Blip is courtesy of Virgin Media's "Offline" broadband!
I am still working away at some macro shots...this one was taken with my bridge using macro zoom...no edits...just cropped and rotated slightly with a vignette added.
I'm going to take a look at a very cheap Olympus Pen-1 this morning at my local camera shop as they have one which has a bit of a battered case but is in perfect working order otherwise.  My stepdaughter has done a deal with me for the Panasonic 30mm macro lens so I'm going to try it all out and see if it can improve my macro shots for very little money....if it does then I'm going to do some saving and look for a better camera and definitely a better lens.  I can't see that I can do anything better with my bridge camera or compacts so a compact system camera is the only option and I'm not willing to spend a fortune on getting new kit at the moment until I'm sure that I know how to make the best of it.
Our security camera we fitted yesterday was hopeless as it took minutes to alert us that someone was there and when we checked online it looked as though this was a common issue...so back to the drawing board (and the shop where we bought it!) today...we're going to try the Hive camera as we already have Hive home stuff and this one works alongside their other Hive products. Hopefully that will prove a better option...more expensive but mains powered so needs to be fitted by an expert but they had some good deals on the whole package so we're going to try it out and see how it works.....
