A sad sight

On this wet and murky afternoon a small crowd gathered to watch the Nil Desperandum being broken up and removed from the Hay's Dock. It was 72 years old and, it was decided, too costly to repair.

Sad to see, but I was pleased to read it wasn't all to literally be scrapped. The timbers are to be salvaged and donated to a local artist and a local furniture maker.
