Passionate Embrace

Yesterday it was turkeys, last month it was frogs, today it was bugs. As the song from 'Oklahoma' goes, 'Spring is busting' out all over....' I was literally stepping on photo ops today when I walked out the front door and found a number of these shield bugs on the front steps. I read that because of all the rain it is going to be a bad year for bugs. Being something of a voyeur, I watched as they checked each other out, rejecting some and literally running over others without stopping until they found the ideal mate. I think OilMan's reaction will be to step on them but as I think they are also known as 'stink bugs' I will have to warn him not to do it if he sees one in the house....

The pond is full of pollywogs again so Fergus must have been successful in his quest for a mate. In fact, he has attracted lots of other frogs by the sound of the chorus at night. I do like their song and we're amazed at how loud they are for such small frogs. They are quite attuned to people walking up the front steps and will stop just long enough for them to pass the pond before they start up again. Some of them seem to have enough stamina to keep going all night.

I finally took my Canon camera with the stuck telephoto lens to the camera store today. It has been dispatched to Canon for an estimate on repairs since they couldn't fix it in the store by jiggling it in ways that I was afraid to try...

My faltering relationship with my doctor was dealt another blow when I went to pick up prescriptions for medications I'm not mad about taking only to find out that, once again, one of them was not approved for renewal.  The doctor prescribed it, yet I always have trouble getting the prescription refilled. I really liked my Berkeley doctor, but even she was being forced to switch to transcribing all records to the computer, something she did not want to do. In theory this seems like a good idea,  but in reality it just makes me feel like both the doctor and I have lost some of our humanity in what should be a very personal relationship.

I'm tempted to change doctors, but starting all over again is daunting too....
