Trouble down t’pit....

A day of faffing about.
Sorted out the Angus blks and hefs for this week’s sale . Kept back a couple to put to the grass and keep for the Christmas show ( hopefully )
Was bagging up sheep feed while filling barley into the hopper ready for the next batch when it all went quiet- always a bad sign ! The conveyor chain had come apart and everything was jammed up . The whole lot was put in in the early 1960s and is well past it’s sell by date , but can’t afford to renew it all so it is an occupational hazzard. Spent the next couple of hours fixing things and hoovering out the grain from the jammed elevators. Also started to clear out the elevator pit which had about a foot of growing stinking grain in the bottom. It smelled like a brewery gone wrong , hence all the waterproofs and gloves.
Mr Brown from Murray Farmcare arrived just as I came up for air. Once he had stopped laughing at the state of me he decided to save the moment for Blip.
Didn’t take much persuading to go and get the kettle on after that !
