Nearly home

Euston Station on the final leg of the journey home. This gatehouse together with its twin on the opposite corner,  was built in 1870 as a parcel and information office for the station. The two 24' square buildings have the names of stations accessed from Euston carved on the corners.  Was very interested to see Keswick listed because It is no longer possible to travel by train to Keswick. The line closed in 1972 and these days you have to catch a bus from Penrith.  I  looked for my local main line station; Oxenholme, which started life as Kendal Junction in 1847.  No sign of either name, obviously not significant enough. The gatehouses are possibly all that is left of the original Euston Station.
I included the no 18 bus because I had just got off it,  having rejected the underground from Victoria in favour of the 13 and 18 buses. So much easier with a crutch and a walking pole.
