A grand night out

A fantastic evening at the Nettlebed Folk Club listening to these masters of their instruments. To be honest, I don't know what was better - the music or the banter, it was like coming home to Scotland! A rather different vibe than the last time I saw them live - which was in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall about 10 years ago. In case you've never heard just how good Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham are, try this or this (the second has more banter). Both videos are quite a few years old, but they are just as good today. As usual, they closed with the Fairy Dance (at the end of the set on the first link), dedicated, according to tradition, to the English Rugby Team - particularly appropriate given the game this weekend!
