Big Dog, Sad eyes

We came upon this Mastiff in Bologna. He was shaking occasionally as he sat on the slate tiles outside a store where his owner was shopping. So we turned this bench around so his leash would allow him to sit up off the ground. He was a beautiful and kind, huge animal. And altho his eyes may appear sad he was a very pleasant happy dog who was enjoying the attention as he greeted many strangers. At a cafe, later on our walk, we happened to meet the owner. We learned that the dog had a condition which caused him to shake (not the cold); happily not a serious condition. But the owner thanked us for our concern & ‘bench’ work.
