Christmas in the city

Sheffield yesterday afternoon and the Christmas Market was in full swing, especially here outside John Lewis, where there was great excitement as this traditional fairground ride gathered speed. I was there with Mum & my brother to listen to Out Aloud singing in the Winter Gardens and very good they were too. We'd caught the tram into Sheffield from Middlewood and I was expecting a car=park choc-full of cars in the pre-Christmas rush for shopping, but no - the carpark was almost empty. Perhaps they'd all gone to Meadowhell instead! If so they missed a treat - Sheffield looked great in its Christmas splendour.
