Beautiful Blencathra

A blustery day in the low hills today, but moments of amazing light if you kept your head up and kept looking.
We went à wandering to find the Iron Age settlement below Threlkeld Knotts believed to be 2700 years old. All that now remains is an elaborate pattern of stones, too difficult to make sense of for blip, a good candidate for a drone photo probably.
I'd wanted to be in this part of the world to check on flooding ahead of an event Tuesday evening, thankfully all the back roads I need to use are passable.
Then à trip to Sedbergh and Farfield Mill, much improved, all the craft units now occupied. But why oh why does the cafe shut an hour earlier than the building???
Unfortunately we then got a good fair few miles into the journey home along Howgills Lane when we discovered that the way was no longer passable, parts of the road washed away. Still I do like a détour if, like today, it takes me down new lanes.
