Catkins and branches and ...... chaffinch

Looking out of an upstairs window towards the silver birch and there was this chaffinch hiding amongst the branches as it waited for its turn on the feeder.

Been a funny day - bright sun and wind this morning and then hail and cloudy sky this afternoon.  Looks like a cold day tomorrow too.
