Shrewsbury 10km

Back in December, neighbour Emma hosted a Pie Night at hers. The morning after the pies I bagged a parkrun PB. Emma generously hosted another Pie Night last night in readiness for the Shrewsbury 10km today (she was also supposed to be running today but shin splints stopped play).

I’m beginning to think there’s something quite illegal in those pies because today I broke my 10km PB that has been standing for 10 years (since the Weston Park glory days with sproutlover). I honestly wasn’t expecting to come near that time because it’s such a hilly route but it felt really good all the way round and in hindsight I probably could have pushed a little harder. My time was 53.30 which I’m still a little amazed about.

The run was followed by a hearty breakfast in town with the neighbours and Louie the dog. Delightful.

(Today is the first day that I’m really missing social media. I really want to geek out and look at all my friend’s photos. Sad times).
