Air Brazil

I spent most of today standing on Merewether beach watching the semi finals and finals of Surfest.   For the ladies, Sally Fitzgibbon won.  You can see her in the first extra being chair lifted off the beach.  The next extra is her chatting to her opponent, Cannelle Bulard  from Reunion Island just after she won the semis.  The main is Alex Ribeiro getting some air in the semis.  The third extra is Alex being congratulated for winning the semi by (I presume) his daughter.  He went on to win the final in an all Brazilian affair. 

These Brazilians sure know how to get some air.  Alex did the most spectacular leap which I missed - you will just have to take my word for it.  His opponent in the final was Jadson Andre.  The last extra shows what good friends they are but as the commentator on the beach said, once the flag is down it's all business.
