Sunset vigil.
To these shores they came,
As did our ancestors before them,
Seeking safety,
And a better life,
Only to be gunned down,
At their place of worship.
Kia kaha Kiwis.
kia kaha is a Maori term which means "Stay strong".We are saying tis to each other as we deal with the tragic mass murders in our land. Tonight a sunset vigil was held on the shores of our harbour. Our local councillor spoke of our support for the people of Christchurch. Songs of love were sung. We lit candles and floated flowers on the harbour waters. Very emotional.
