Once I Had A Love And It Was A Gas

Blondie were the first band of which I was a real fan. I still remember the first time I played Parallel Lines ; it was an Easter present from my parents and I played Sunday Girl over and over and knew that would be a single. I was right! I became a member of the Official Blondie Fan Club and Blondie were the first band I ever saw live. My dad took me up to the Hammersmith Odeon in London. What a night!

We are into the top ten of my Sony Walkman Countdown, and that is where Blondie sit with 61 songs. But they are not alone. Sharing the No.10 spot with Blondie are Ultravox. Well, I can't ignore their brilliance, can I, so I am going to do a very clever Crossfade from Blondie to Ultravox using time tricks and nuclear power. Prepare to be dazzled.

Atomic ...... Slow Motion ....... Slow Motion/Hiroshima Mon Amour.

Sorry, but that Billy Currie is too amazing; what Jimi Hendrix was to the guitar, he is to the synthesizer. I'm going to have to zip up the chart to link to his finest hour with Numan. Hold on to your hats, we're On Broadway. (Hey, I have an excuse - yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the release of Replicas.)
