Bennachie from Drumwhindle
Last night's rainstorm blew itself out during the course of the day, leaving in its wake an afternoon of bright sunshine, bathing the landscape in a clear, wintry light.
This view was taken early this afternoon as we were following minor roads across the high ground to the north west of Ellon: while the rain has now washed away most of the snow from the lowland areas, snow still dusts the higher ground, including the massif of Bennachie, which makes it stand out clearly against the distant horizon.
