a moving day

The movers arrive at 8.30 and are gone by 10.30.  I'm standing in an empty room when I get a call from our solicitors to tell me that the proceeds for the sale of our house have been deposited in our bank.

It all went very quickly in the end - exchange to completion in a week.

Anniemay and I are exhausted - I reckon that we've taken over 20 car loads of stuff we can't manage without (and clocked up around 250 miles) from our (now) old home to our temporary home in the train shed.  We have to do it all again in another 3 or 4 months.

In the meantime - what to do with the large sum of money now sitting our bank account?  I search the internet for high interest savings accounts while Anniemay mumbles something about "lucky black" and looks for cheap flights to Las Vegas.
