Thursday: Reflections

I was at a Brexit talk this morning by a visiting Irish Minister. It was very interesting to sit in the audience and hear another country's take on it. Added to that, the Irish accent is one I could just listen to for hours.

This evening I was at an achingly trendy reception for a visiting delegation of animation studios from the UK. It was in a hotel that I hadn't been to before - the reception was in a suite, complete with pool table. I was dying to have a game but it would probably have been inapporpriate.

The bedroom had bookshelves on which all the books had black spines. This did mean that there were about 20 copies of Nicole Richie's 'Precious' because, you guessed it, it has a black spine. I'm not even inclined to read it once, let alone 20 times.

Couldn't quite take this photo in the elevator without my hand showing up but I quite like the effect.
