Exterminate!

When my son came to visit last week he had a sort out amongst his things that still reside in the loft.  He found this friction drive Dalek and brought it down, obviously to guard me and exterminate all-comers. Unfortunately it had the worst of a skirmish and has lost it's plungers so I think that I may have to guard myself

The daleks first appeared in Dr. Who in 1963, I wonder if my brother remembers watching it from behind the settee?
