Lytch Gate, St Bartholomew's Church

Literally a gate covered by a roof at the entrance to a church. In the middle ages when most folk died at home the bodies were taken to church and remained under the Lytch Gate to await burial.

Had to take a walk, having been incarcerated most of the day, and I passed by the Church and thought the gate rather than the main building was worthy of a pic. Another gale blowing for most of the day, the sort you feel you could lean against, but luckily no rain to speak of.
