John Devoy 1842 - 1929....!

This man was born here locally in Co. Kildare and was a famous Irish rebel leader ....he dedicated 60yrs of his life to the cause of Irish Independence...he was also owner and editor of a weekly New York newspaper called the Gaelic American..
The military barracks (no longer in use) was named after him too and he now stands tall in our town square....!
I’m very pleased with myself today as I’ve been out around doing some things I’ve needed and wanted to do for weeks...
I decided to ‘ bite the bullet’...take my walking stick/umbrella and risk it and thankfully I was fine...I think the Serc tabs are starting to help....!
It felt very good to do something ‘normal’......I also indulged in a little retail therapy.....more about that again ...I’ll Blip it another day!!!
There’s nothing like it though....!!!
