The old and the new
Today daughter J entertained her sister and nephews and her parents on the new deck at her home. We sat on old wrought iron chairs which she will tidy up and repaint, and the food was on an iron table, with a few places of rust, but otherwise ideal for the deck. Just outside the doors from her main room to the deck, she has a wee round table with two chairs. Again wrought iron and rescued by purchasing second hand. Then antirusted and repainted; yellow. Inside there is an old matai timber floor, and new kitchen cupboards and fridge and oven. The blue chairs are both new and old; recently manufactured to a design from many years ago; French cafe chairs.
J has done well with reusing still functional items, and she did well tonight with a lovely meal.
