Waiting for the skiers

Popped back to Chasewater on my way over to Lichfield to see Mum. When they started refilling the reservoir this year, after repairing the dam embankment, the authorities predicted it would take three years to refill. Well, as of today the water is within a metre of its optimum height! A graphic indication of the amount of rain we have had this year.

This is the pontoon serving a water skiing club which hasn't operated for about 3 years. I'm looking forward to the possibility of taking some action shots when they return.

And to illustrate the changing position of the sunrise I took a shot earlier in the year when the sun rose to the left of the image, in line with the pontoon.
