The Artist - sculpture portfolio entry 06
One of my earliest sculptures. I was taking a pottery class, learning to use the wheel, and rather than just making a pot, I couldn't resist making it into a sculpture. This was my expression of what I feel it means to be an artist. Rising above, looking the other way, avoiding the humdrum. I've never quite managed to live my own ideals.
There is a Turkish proverb I'm fond of quoting (in English): No matter how far down the wrong road you've gone, go back.
