I went into work to find a lighter weight for a longcase clock I have on test.  A clock should run on the lightest weight possible to avoid excessive wear. The customer's weight was double the weight needed and was actually causing misstriking.  I reassembled my own kitchen clock this afternoon which now works and has a much healthier tick.  Today's walk was completed speedily for, although the weather was sunny, the strong wind was quite chilly.
