Another quiet day - several meetings I was going to have got canceled or moved. It was raining on and off until late afternoon when the sky cleared. I popped out the back door to try to find something to take a picture of and I noticed the abundance of cones on this tree - at about 100 feet up.

We have heard the merlins returning but they seem to going to a different doug fir, this one is taller and is in a better spot for viewing from our back yard. We'll have to wait and see.
