Mud Hut
We walked to the Mud Hut on the Welcome Rock bike/walk trail and stayed the night. This hut (see photo for 12 March) was built by Chinese during the construction of the water race for gold mining at the end of the 19th Century. It is made of sod mud bricks.
As you can see, the bunks are very small, so it is pretty hard to stretch out!
The hut was in poor repair and was reconstructed in 1990...it is still very basic, but fun to stay in.
