Monarch
This wasn't the best day to have to drive a roadster up onto the Cotswold scarp, where the weather was absolutely biblical; but I had a hair appointment in Stow-on-the-Wold, and I'm far too stingy to pay a late cancellation fee. So an exciting time was had - especially when traffic behind and approaching me gave me no choice but to drive over standing water. I may have to have stabilising fins fitted to the MX-5 if this nonsense continues.
By the time I reached the relative safety of the hair salon I was feeling lucky (or maybe reckless), so I've gone full House of Elliott. I may regret this when I look in the bathroom mirror tomorrow morning, but luckily for you, you won't be around to hear me express the fact.
Because there was no way I was going to get an outdoor photo during the raging storm, after my haircut I drove through to Stratford and went to the Butterfly Farm. It was quite quiet today - by which I mean that there weren't as many butterflies on the wing as usual, not that there were no children screaming - but there were quite a few Monarchs around. I don't think I've ever posted one before, probably because so many blippers are lucky enough to be able to photograph wild ones, but I do quite like this image, so the Monarch gets the nod today.
