Ice Skating

Ice skating...I remember doing it many, many years ago. We used to skate on the lake but now there is an actual rink due to the fact that the lake very rarely freezes solid enough to be considered safe enough for skating (global warming?) I also still have fresh in my mind how my skinny Irish legs would shake and tremble afterwards from trying to upright and balance myself on the skates for hours! This is what happens when you mix a Sicilian upper body with an Irish lower body. My legs are always screaming at me "Are you serious?" Going around in circles isn't really my thing either I'm much more of a straight on, go forward kind of person. Haha
It's a beautiful sight to see the skaters gliding by at this time of year as if in effortless flight. Even the little ones seem to be quite good. It really makes for a nice holiday Blip. This was taken at a park just five minutes from my house. I passed it yesterday but it was too early and there were no skaters there yet. I waited till dark today and went back to capture this shot. Well worth it.
