Fire Ants
A menace in our area are fire ants. They build and live in mounds. If you destroy the mound, they go underground and build another mound in the area. When I walked to the library today, I passed about 20 mounds along the road into the property. The photo shows a mound as is and after I put a stick into the top of the mound. Immediately hundreds of ants came out of the mound. I left quickly. If you are bitten by one or more of these creatures you will know why they are called fire ants. There are a few holes in the mound, but otherwise, all you see are ants.
