Cormorant

This afternoon we took Chloe for a stroll round the Loch at Linlithgow. Lots of birds on and around the water and this cormorant looking quite aloof as it sat drying its wings out. Apparently their feathers are not as oily as some other water birds so they absolutely need to hang themselves out to dry regularly. Looking at cormorants you can really imagine how birds have developed from dinosaurs.
