Tragedy
Hey everyone,
As I'm sure you've heard, no matter where in the world you're from, there was a horrific tragedy in Connecticut earlier today. 27 people, including 20 young children, lost their lives after a masked gunman went on a shooting rampage inside a primary (elementary) school.
I froze with horror when the news first broke. Just the thought of children as young as 5..... Losing their lives in these circumstances, their whole lives ahead of them. The first thing I thought of was how did he get a gun into a school? This is coming just months after the cinema massacre and the shooting in a Sikh temple. As much as I hate to say this, I suspected something big was going to happen, I just didn't think it would be as tragic as this.
I want to use today's blip to pay my respects to the 20 innocent young children, and the 6 adults, who probably died trying to protect them. I can't even begin to imagine what the families must be going through. You send your children off to school, with both kids and adults expecting to see each other a few hours later. For 20 families, they will be sleeping tonight with one less child. One less life to be fulfilled. They had so much prospect and opportunity.
Okay, I'm going to go now, and I'd like to ask that you all spare a thought for the children and adults who lost their lives to what I can only describe as a crazed madman.
Thank you, and stay safe.
Steven
