The Will Of The People

Well, we have another referendum! No, not that one! We have to 'deliberate' on whether we are in favour of the local neighbourhood plan. There's a lot of stuff to read, but so far I can't see anything about what happens if the plan is rejected. I am assuming the council, having apparently worked on it for four years, want us to accept the plan, but even that is not abundantly clear. I anticipate a very small turnout, with a big majority in favour. Why we have to have a referendum on this seems a mystery to me. They didn't have one about the 40 or so new homes that were built in the field near us, which we didn't want and is probably the most significant planning development which has happened since we've been living here, over 20 years now. Oh well.
