Q and A

Just found this - it was the last edition of Q magazine I ever bought.

I bought issue 1 and went on buying until issue 100 without fail. This issue number 182 dated Oct 2001 doesn't seem to ever have been opened and read.

Today I opened the Guardian G2 section which has the films of the year , records of the year etc. chosen by their critics - I've never heard of any of them except the classical ones - I do recognise Beethoven and even Claudio Abbado the conductor. The world of film and popular music so important for the majority my life have slipped off my radar.

I'm not sure I realised that it had happened so completely. I wonder why ?

Perhaps it doesn't matter at all - I'll just have to go on living in the past, after all there is a great back catalogue :-)
