Northern Cardinal

Nearly fell of my bike when I saw
this beauty, unaccustomed as I am to
seeing such a bright creature !
Dropped bike by side of road ,
grappled for camera
shame it s slightly out of focus
but he flew off .
The male feeds the female during courtship
(yea but in my experience that stops as soon
as you agree to marry him !!)
Very territorial and will fight it s own
reflection in a window (now THAT I would like to blip )
