Northern Championships

Today was the Northern Orienteering Championships at Wharncliffe just north of Sheffield. Sleet, rain, sunshine and strong winds greeted competitors. Cagoules and whistles were compulsory with most people opting to wear rather than carry them.

The early controls were more like bouldering as I scrambled over the rocks. My performance was rather scrappy so pleased to finish fourth.

We had a quick stop off to see youngest son Thomas and have a vital cup of tea before heading home for a much needed hot bath.

My blip is of some of Yorkshire’s top female juniors comparing notes after their runs.
