Blue Shadows in the Spring Winter.
We drove up to Härnösand's golf course today, in search of a place to both walk and enjoy the sun. Golf is not played in winter in mid-Sweden so everything was silent, the clubhouse locked, and even the car park was full of snow. The only sign of activity was a lone snow-mobile towing a device to create a ski track - maybe another outing another day to try out that track?
As it has been all day the light was fantastic. This morning I opened the curtains to our bedroom and almost recoiled from the brightness of all that new snow reflecting back the sun shining out of a cloudless blue sky. Too much - get me the sun glasses!
By the time we went walking cumulus clouds had formed inland but out here on the coast blue sky still reigned! So here we are, looking out over the golf course from a silent and locked club house.
Less than three months ago at midwinter it was completely dark at 3 o'clock, but now here we are four o'clock with the sun still high in the sky, and light until 6:30. I do love the spring winter!
The extra shows me filling our woodbasket for the house. We are getting a little low on wood that I split 18 months ago so I'm splitting some bits that got left on that occasion, usually because they were so full of knots and branch stubs.
