Once Upon a Time.......
The Gulf Stream has reverted to its bad old ways and produced icy temperatures and a snell wind. Notwithstanding, I went down to the seaside this morning to see the new exhibition of paintings and craft work in the Velvet Easel Gallery in Portobello. It was a favourite place for His Lordship and me to visit between the scones and the ice creams on the prom.
This morning it was rather a large glass of Prosecco that encouraged my hand to enter my purse and buy this pretty glass coaster.
I had arranged to meet up with JoppaStrand and Tiggy for coffee on Porty High Street and the caffeine served to dampen the effects of the early morning alcohol intake. We chatted about this and that, Grand Canaria and Bogotá not forgetting Kilt Walks and Marie Curie. It was the perfect antidote to yesterday’s events and a possibly lonely Saturday.
The bus ride home took longer than a journey to Glasgow given the road works, traffic lights, and busyness, while all the while there was a perfect storm of hail sweeping in from a rapidly greying sky, leaving the ground instantly white.
I arrived home just in time to welcome David and Luca with a plate of soup and some pumpkin bread, and the sun appeared again as though the weather tantrum had never happened. Fickleness in weather or in people is not an admirable quality.
