I knew a retired lady teacher, now departed this earth. She was typical of a certain Edinburgh worthy - unmarried, slightly eccentric, a domestic science teacher who would not have been out of place as a colleague of Miss Jean Brodie in Marcia Blane’s School for Girls.

She had a phrase - as all memorable teachers do. “Oily fish, girls, once a week.”

This was in the 50’s and 60’s. And I bet she had never heard of Omega 3.
