The arrogant Brits can't stand anyone making rules

In 1995 UNESCO started World Book Day & was to be held on 23rd April. The UK condescended to take part for 3 years but then in 1998 and ever since, holds the event in March. They don't even agree to hand back the name still claiming it as World Book Day & they forced Ireland to join in.
And all to avoid a clash with England's Syrian born St. George's Day!

So my two suppressed grandchildren had to take part in Ireland.

Charlotte went for Roald Dahl's "Matilda" one of the most popular of all time children's novels and dressed wonderfully to match.

Elliot went for "Survivor: Titanic" by Stephen Davies and again well dressed.

My adapted review of this review of the Titanic book reminds me of something:

The UK celebrating 46 years of moaning about an organisation that some people link it to the demise of £sd and introduction of decimalisation in 1971 three years before joining.
