Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Worth a thousand words

As I said yesterday, I did a full clear out of the fish tank today to get rid of the snails who had invaded via some plants I think. Hopefully they've all gone and I've got new plants arriving, hopefully tomorrow, so maybe a wee Blip then. I also took the chance to move the tank and do a really thorough clean all around, shhhh, don't tell, the tank hadn't been moved in over 10 years!
Today's blip is because I offered to send one of my friends from India, who is German, my marmalade recipe. She's never made jam or marmalade before but enjoyed the wee jar I had taken out with me and wanted to have a go herself once she got back to Germany. I thought pictures might help with any language confusion. Which of course meant making another batch myself. I used blood oranges,so hopefully it will be a lovely colour. All the prep is done, so tomorrow will be cooking day.
Did some walking today and bought myself some lovely Denby plates in the charity shop. I don't suppose I need them but I did like them! This evening was taken up with choosing some images for our parish profile which was interesting. I missed most of the hard work last month while I was away.
15968 steps today, which considering the weather was so horrid at times, was a pleasant surprise.
