Unusual way to advertise

The owner of this storage yard has an unusual way of drawing attention to his business. It is a bit jarring to see the leg hanging out of the window as you drive by. 
The house is immediately across the road from a stop on the John Wilkes Booth escape route, and this house was likely standing at the time that Booth was hiding in the woods across the road.
